Why LearnTrek?

Built by People Who Understand Your World

LearnTrek was created by people with first-hand experience of Alternative Provision. Having seen the day-to-day challenges education providers face, we built a platform that makes safeguarding, compliance and reporting easier to manage, giving teams more time to focus on supporting children and young people.

Every feature has been shaped by the realities of specialist education. Automated reminders prompt staff to complete attendance marks, record engagement scores, log safeguarding information and confirm they've read key policies, such as Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE). This reduces the need for leaders to chase missing information, helping maintain setting-wide compliance while reducing administration across the team.

Our Story

LearnTrek began with a simple problem: most management and reporting systems were never designed around the realities of Alternative Provision and specialist education.

Teams were duplicating information, building reports by hand and trying to evidence progress through systems made for mainstream settings. Our founders had experienced those pressures first-hand and knew there was a better way.

They created LearnTrek to reduce administration, improve visibility and make meaningful progress easier to evidence. The platform now supports AP, specialist education, independent schools and SEND services, and continues to evolve alongside the sector.

BUILT BY PEOPLE FROM THE SECTOR

The People Behind LearnTrek

LearnTrek was built by people who have worked inside alternative provision and specialist education, not by a product team looking in from outside. That experience still shapes the platform today, and it's the same experience the team brings to every setting they work with.

Dr Alexandra Gray

Founder

Alex has spent her career in senior leadership across non-school alternative provision and independent special schools. Frustrated by the lack of systems built for AP, she created LearnTrek to help settings properly recognise their pupils' achievements. She continues to write and consult on alternative curriculum design, and chairs the ALIGN National Executive Board, the UK's representative body for non-school AP.
